Riding packages.

Riding package and Short Breaks – Information and Prices 2024

Our small and exclusive equestrian centre is situated 50 minutes from Bordeaux airport, and 1 hour from Bergerac airport.

Jackie and Johnny Harris have been training horses and riders for over 35 years. The focus is always on sensitive and correct riding technique. We spend time to help you develop a correct and balanced position on the horse – a good seat is the vital key. This creates the ability to feel the horse working, and to be able to communicate with a soft. steady leg and light hands.

Our experienced horses are calm and obedient – great confidence builders for the less experienced, or the more cautious rider.

Many of our horses have competed in competition – Show Jumping and eventing, and are experienced in polework and jumping. More confident riders can work on their technique and course riding.

The packages;

Our training holidays focus on the individual, therefore many of our guests come alone and we create a bespoke program for them. For friends wishing to ride together, we can take a maximum of 3 riders at a time.

The 7 night package consists of 10 sessions of riding with half-board accommodation – bed, breakfast and evening meal. Guests stay in the  accommodation at Guillot house, next to the stables.

Arriving on Saturday or Sunday,  riding starts the following day, with lessons taking place in the morning and the afternoon. Additional lessons can be booked if required.

We are very flexible, and the timing of the riding sessions can be adjusted during some days, to allow for trips out, and exploring this wonderful region – especially those long, lazy French lunches!

We also offer short breaks and training weekends, 2 nights – 4 lessons, or 3 nights – 6 lessons. Transfers from station/airport available.

All levels of rider are welcome – from beginner to advanced.  We are unable to cater for children under 12 years.

Sejour Anglais;

A week living as family and riding – is there a better way to learn a second language? For more information contact Chloé LEBRETON at https://www.horsaway.com/le-reseau/sejour-immersion-cso-so-british-bordelais/

 What else can we offer you?

Watch an expert at work.

For our student visitors,  Johnny will give a demonstration – showing various training techniques and ridden exercises. This is especially useful for  equestrian students and young trainers who are intent on a career in the equine industry.

Preparation for riding exams.

Riders who are aiming at BHS Stages from 2 upwards will need to demonstrate their ability to ride unknown horses both on the flat and over a course of jumps. We can help you to get the best result on the day with sound preparation and practise.

Trainee placements.

We can take a limited number of trainees working towards higher level qualifications. We also offer short term intensive preparation for UK exams – in horse care, riding and instructing.

Explore the Region.

This region is World renowned for it’s exceptional wine, and of course St Emilion is the number one producer, with it’s 15 Premier Grand Cru Classe ‘A’ wines. Even more fun can be trying less well known Premier Grand Cru wines from smaller producers – for example, this super – modern Chateau offers tours and really quality wine, our visitors gave it rave reviews! Chateau La Croizille

Under 20 minutes drive from us, the charming town of St Emilion can offer hours of entertainment – restaurants ranging from bustling terrace Cafes, to a Michelin starred restaurant, numerous wine shops for tasting and learning from their (many English speaking) staff. A wine school, a road train trip around the vineyards, Chateaux visits, and more…. St Emilion wine

The fabulous City of Bordeaux is a must see. Beautiful historic buildings, busy roadside Cafes, easy and very cheap tram system to get around, the riverside walkway is a great place to stroll and then stop for a coffee or lunch at one of the many snack bars along the way. Bordeaux City break guide Bordeaux was also featured in the Sunday Times ‘Big Weekend Break’ and is becoming one of Europe’s top City destinations. Also an excellent feature in ‘The Wayfarer” travel magazine – What to do in Bordeaux

The beach resorts and beaches of the Atlantic coast are well worth the 1hour 45 minute drive from us.  Lacanau and Biscarrosse are big surfing hubs, and the spectacular sand beaches stretch 200km from Biarritz to Royan and beyond. Arcachon has undergone a major facelift and the Centre now has an underground car park which leads directly into the main square with shops, Cafes and restaurants, next to the beach. The smaller and less well known beaches of Hourtin and Carcans are just delightful – relaxed and generally quieter . Beaches of Bordeaux Atlantic coast
